Tweed yarn is a delicious yarn to knit with for several reasons. Firstly, it is superwash treated and can therefore be machine washed and is therefore very suitable for children's knitting. Secondly, it takes up more space when it is knitted up than much of our other yarn, because there is no silk or cashmere in it. So it is perfect for nice sweaters. With this yarn, it is important to make a knitting test (we always recommend this, by the way) because, as I said, it fluffs up and fills more after washing. All in all, a lovely yarn with a very beautiful tweed effect.
