Possum is a small marsupial native to New Zealand, where it is considered a pest. They are controlled so that the large population does not damage the ecosystem in New Zealand. Possum has a very fine undercoat, and these are what we use for the yarn. The fibres are hollow, which makes the yarn very warm. The fibres are short, just like in our mink yarn, and therefore you will not find 100% Possum, but instead it is spun together with other luxury fibres, which certainly does not make it any worse.
