Possum is a small marsupial native to New Zealand, where it is considered a pest. They are controlled so that the large population does not destroy the ecosystem in New Zealand. Possum has a very fine undercoat, and it is these fibers that we use for the yarn. The fibers are hollow, which makes the yarn very warm. The fibers are short, like those in our mink yarn, and therefore you do not find 100% Possum, but instead it is spun together with other luxury fibers, which certainly does not make it any worse.
