Winding and knitting: We recommend winding the silk by hand, as it is very "alive" and can easily tangle. We also recommend alternating between the skeins while knitting to avoid pooling and to achieve a more even appearance in your knitting, since silk takes dye very unevenly.

Our silk is 100% Mulberry Silk and some of the best on the market. It is knitted on needles 3 - 4. Wooden needles are recommended because silk can be slippery to work with. The silk is in AKW scale A, which means it is suitable for allergy sufferers and people with sensitive skin. It is a product we mainly stock in spring and summer, so it is important that you buy enough to be sure you have enough for your project. It is perfect for summer sweaters, summer tops and shawls.
