Possum

This delicious yarn contains 3 of nature’s finest and most exclusive fibres, namely possum, cashmere and silk. It is made with sustainability and extremely high quality in focus.

Possum is a small marsupial that lives, among other places, in New Zealand, where it is classified as an invasive species/pest. Possums are controlled in New Zealand because they have no natural enemies and damage the ecosystem. The massive number of possums simply destroys nature on the island, and by controlling these animals, their undercoat is used to produce yarn.

The fibres in possum are hollow and therefore very lightweight. Combined with cashmere and silk, you get an incredibly light yarn that is both lighter and warmer than 100% cashmere.
