The possum is a small marsupial from New Zealand, where it is considered a pest. Its numbers are controlled so that the large population does not destroy New Zealand’s ecosystem. The possum has a very fine undercoat, and that is what we use for the yarn. The fibres are hollow, which makes the yarn very warm. Like our mink yarn, the fibres are short, so you will not find 100% possum yarn – instead it is spun together with other luxury fibres, which certainly does not make it any worse.
