Mohair is not just mohair … mohair is hair, not wool. The shorter the hairs, the more it itches – just as if we had a buzz cut. Economically, producers get more out of shearing the goats often, as it gives them more yarn than letting the hair grow long. The longer the hairs, the more they lie flat against the skin and the less they itch. It is not recommended for people with allergies, which is why it is category C, but if you are “just” sensitive, I really recommend trying this one, as it truly is different. This luxury mohair has only 175 m per 25 g, so it becomes very thick if you knit with two strands. That is why, for example, PetiteKnit’s “Kumulus Blouse” works well with just one strand of this mohair.
