Winding and knitting: We recommend winding the silk by hand, as it is very “lively” and can easily tangle. We also recommend alternating between skeins as you knit to avoid pooling and get a more even look, as silk takes the dye very differently.
AKW Scale: A
Our silk is 100% mulberry silk and among the best on the market. It is knitted on 3–4 mm needles. We recommend wooden needles, as silk can be slippery to knit with. The silk is rated A on the AKW Scale, which means it is good for people with allergies and sensitive skin. We mainly stock it in spring and summer, so make sure you buy enough for your project. It is perfect for summer blouses, summer tops and shawls.
