Baby suri alpaca is a very good alternative to mohair. It is slightly thicker, but it is much more allergy friendly. The hairs do not sting/itch in the same way as some mohair can. It makes for an incredibly delicious, soft material and if you knit a sweater in it, I promise you will come to live in it!
